Parallel Echoes

PARALLEL ECHOES is a rule-light solo story building journaling RPG. As such, it's an exercise in magical thinking, a game to be played in your head, and within your journal, by yourself.

The goal of the game is to experience the properties of a story that emerges from an agreement between your id, ego, and superego, not one driven by an imposed script or a hardcoded framework.  

Unlike most RPGs, PARALLEL ECHOES is not a game in which you portray an avatar - a warrior, a cyborg, an alien, etc. Instead, your own self, your real you is the protagonist. Thus, by following ahead, you split your timeline into two, in a manner of speaking, and find yourself managing a stormy variant of your day to day within the game.

Plus, different from most of the other few RPGs in which you play your own self, here you will not see a fantastic plot suddenly landing over your current life - no zombies, dragons, or angry gods will pop up. Instead, the chain of game events will unfold right in the middle of your day to day regular life, amidst familiar faces. 

Lastly, unlike regular journaling games, PARALLEL ECHOES doesn't rely only on creative writing; it's also an exercise in self-analysis and a way of testing your resourcefulness in the face of uncertainty, lies, and betrayal. It's a game about calmly observing the details around you, constructing consistent rationales, and making rock-solid decisions.
